Carpet and
moquette,
woven here.

Al-Nassajoun runs a carpet and moquette factory on 25,900 square metres in Jurf al-Naddaf, Baghdad. We weave for homes, mosques, hotels and offices — and we import the yarn, jute backing and dyes the rest of the trade runs on.

Four things we are asked for most

Pick a floor

Plain moquette for a whole floor, mosque carpet set out to the prayer row, fine traditional pattern work for a reception room, or contract pile that will take years of traffic. Every one of them is woven on our own lines.

From yarn to roll

Four stages, in order

Every metre that leaves the factory has passed through the same four stages. Nothing is skipped, and each stage is checked before the next one starts.

  1. Stage 01

    Yarn & dye

Yarn is received, graded and dyed to the colourway. Batches are matched against the approved sample before they go anywhere near a loom.

  2. Stage 02

    Weaving & tufting

Warp is set on the beam and the pile is put down — woven for pattern work, tufted for plain and textured moquette at production width.

  3. Stage 03

    Backing

Latex is applied and the jute or woven secondary backing is bonded on. This is what holds the pile and keeps the carpet flat and square for years.

  4. Stage 04

    Finishing & cut

Shearing, brushing, edge binding, inspection, then cut to the length ordered, rolled, wrapped and loaded.

On the floor

Made, not just sold

Yarn feeding the creel, and carpet coming off at full production width. This is our own floor in Jurf al-Naddaf, not a catalogue.
